Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller is waking computer

My Inspiron 3847 will not stay asleep in Windows 10. Other than the keyboard and mouse, I have disabled every device that I could find from being able to wake the computer.

Running from the Cmd prompt, powercfg -lastwake, typically shows me that it is the "Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller", waking the computer. There is no power management tabs for this device.

I tried to run from the Cmd prompt (as administrator): powercfg -devicedisablewake "Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft)". The computer response was that I did not have permission to disable wake.

I tried logging on as Adminstrator, (eventhough the command prompt window showed that it was in the administrative mode, but this did no good trying the above command. I still didn't have permission.

I really do not want to disable the USB 3.0 Controller to allow the computer to stay asleep.

Does anyone have a solution?

- If this is Windows 10 you are using then it has USB 3.0 drivers included in the OS already and you don't need Intel ones. Try disabling the Intel one and you should still have USB 3.0 capability and USB as well.

- Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller driver is updated to most recent version?

I know how to disable the device, but I did not know how to replace the drivers with the Window 10 drivers. Intel does not have drivers listed for Windows 10. The date on my drivers is much more current (4/27/2017) than what is listed on the Intel site. My potential solution, it has only worked overnight, was switching from the Dell Power Plan, to one from Microsoft. If it continues to work, I will post it as the solution.

Intel doesn't have drivers listed for Windows 10 for eXtensible because they already are built into Windows 10. You do not need to install them they are already there and so are native USB 3.0 drivers. You could disable eXtensible and USB 3.0 may still work as Windows would use it's USB 3.0 drivers. It may already be using them for your peripherals.
