Hi Everyone,

Recently I have bought the high end configuration PC.

Processor is Intel i7 4770

MotherBoard MSI Z87-G43
CPUID/MicroCode 306c3/17
BIOS Version E7816IMS V1.7
ME Version 9.0.30.1482

I have installed Windows 7 Ulitmate on it. In VMware workstation I have installed ESX5.5 now when I am trying to install 64bit Redhat Linux on top of ESX.

It is giving me the error "This virtual machine is configured for 64bit Guest Operating Systems However 64bit Operation is not possible. This host doesn't support Intel VT-x"
but in BIOS settings virtualization is enabled.

Intel Virtualization tech Enabled
Intel VT-D Tech Enabled

I am worried about it Can anyone help me regarding it.

Thanks
Vikrant

Do I understand correctly that you are running ESX as a guest of VMWare Workstation? If so the error message refers not to your physical computer but to the virtual machine. You need to configure that to provide VT-x to its guests. I'm not quite sure why you would want to run double-level virtualization like this. Why not just install the Redhat as a guest of VMWare Workstation?
