Question Intel Warranty Plan for i7 8700k

To add to all this, CPU failure rates are like 0.5% or less. The chances of ever needing an extended warranty is slim to none. Short of overclocking the crap out of it and not cooling it properly it takes a whole lot to kill a CPU and it will be long obsolete before ever getting near the point of failure.

Extended warranties on most items are usually a waste of money, if they even existed for a CPU that would be an even bigger waste of money.

I am referring to the purchasable warranty that allows you to request an RMA and get sent a replacement CPU before you send your current CPU back, is that possible at anytime before your current warranty expires?

Obviously, the place to ask is Intel:
