Intel wireless Dual Band-AC 7260 plus Bluetooth: Wifi but NO bluetooth!

I've installed Windows 8.1 preview and my wifi card works well to connect to the network with the default (Microsoft) drivers. The bluetooth module picks up my phone but it has no functionality.

Intel does not support this product. Their agent pointed me to updating drivers, which I did. The wifi works well, as always, but now I have no bluetooth icon. The Metro PC settings does not have a bluetooth section under network -> radio devices, or anywhere else that I can find. Nor does the desktop version of control panel.

Where did it go? How do I get it back? But most importantly, how do I pair my phone and keyboard?

Thanks for your help!

In several notebooks there are two - mechanical - mini pci-e slots: One for WLAN, the other for 3G. But - obviously none of them has complete pci-e wiring. In my fujitsu-siemens H250 for example in the WLAN-card-slot the WLAN of intel 7260 works properly. But no bluetooth, also no bt-entry in the device manager. In the other slot, which is foreseen (by manufacturer) for either 3G- or intel-turbomemory-cards, bluetooth of intel 7260 works properly, but no WLAN and no WLAN-entry under "network-adapters".

From internet search I got the info that - at least mini pci-e - has USB 2.0-wiring included when fully connected. This explains also that intel-turbomemory flopped - USB 2.0 speed is too slow.

My solution was to connect the two USB-signals (D+ and D-) from the 3G-/turbomemory-slot to the WLAN slot.

But doing this is extremely dedicately as the pinouts are very small.

This as a hint - not more as I am not willing to take over responsibility for bad results.

Ryan,
Hopefully you have figured this out by now, but I am posting to offer clarification for future readers. The AC 7260 requires installation of two separate drivers, one for Wi-Fi, one for Bluetooth.

Raymond

Hi ...
Can you please suggest something on this scenario :

Hi All,
Did any one had any issues with Bluetooth Connectivity with
"Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 plus Bluetooth Adapter "

I installed it as showed in Intel installation manual.
I could see the Bluetooth icon in task bar.And the only problem I am noticing is the
range is too short around 3 feet.Am I doing something wrong in installation ?

Other Retailer are suggesting to connect it in a different fashion to as what is described in Intel manual.

Intel Manual says to connect in this way to JUSB1 Pins on MOBO

Will there be any harm if I connect and try in both ways ?
Does it makes some damage to MOBO or Component ? Please advise

Please suggest 🙁

Hi Twsan, I have similar problem to you. I replace the mini pci-e card in my Fujitsu LH772 with a Intel 7260 AC one, but the bluetooth is not working like yours. I want to try your solution. Can you shed more light on the USB-signals connection? Many thanks

I have a Toshiba A660 and I can confirm that bluetooth will not work from the half-height slot (no USB connection). It will work if you use the full-height slot however the left antenna wire is short and may have to be redone to fit on a half-height card with adapter. Better to get a full-height card if you plan to upgrade with this laptop. I would expect the A665 to be similar. Also, don't expect the wifi light to work either, however there's no need to disable pins in either slot.
