Hello community !

I am looking to upgrade from a i7 4770K..
CPU's I have in mind are the i7 7820X and the new i7 8700K.

I am more leaning towards the X299 platform, because I want to go 2 way SLI and X299 offers more pcie lanes. Also I would be able to install an extra pcie SSD. ( maybe M.2 ? )

I know going the X299 way will be less budget friendly, but that is, for this build, not my main concern.

PC would be used for gaming, streaming and video editing

I have been reading the forums & reviews about this specific situation, but I was wondering if you guys maybe have some advice aswell :). PS sorry for possible bad English, not my native language.

Solution
7820X does not offer more lanes(at least not enought for SLI) , only 7900X comes with 44 lanes. The 7820X has only 28 lanes, this means your gpu will work in 16X/8X not in 16X/16X. Go for 7900X or 8700K.
