After installing Intel Xeon on 775 , My windows 10 won't boot up. Tried to update bios , didnt helped.

Tried installing windows 10 , gets stucked at windows icon same thing like windows 10 boot up.

I think its not bios problem , but with the boot up thing

And one strange thing , my xeon runs at 2.00ghz , instead of 2.80ghz.

Seems like my mobo is messed up :/

Any suggestions

When chips are released for sale they come with non-finalized instructions that may include errata severe enough to prevent Windows from booting. Like software nowadays which is shipped in an unfinished state to be patched later, the updates (called microcodes) are shipped to motherboard manufacturers to include in their BIOSes.

Gigabyte never saw fit to include Xeon microcodes in their BIOSes as they never advertised the board to be compatible with such. If you don't want to mod the latest BIOS yourself to include the Xeon microcodes (generally these drop support for Pentium 4 to save space but still include support for Core 2) then there are premodded BIOSes available for that board floating around the internet if you trust the...
Yes it should be supported because the chip is G31

I had a strange succesfull launch , because when replaced my old cpu and replaced the xeon back again , i look up at task manager and cpu z . Both were saying different things like task manager said its intel core duo e7300 (my old cpu)

But cpu z said its intel xeon but it had 2 cores 2 threads
At the same time only 1 ram slog were working

After restarting pc my rams slot were working again and i'm again stuck with windows 10 logo freeze

This blowing my head away with this Xeon tricks that my mobo tries to normally function 😀

According to http://www.delidded.com/lga-771-to-775-adapter/3/ the following Xeon have been tested as working (presuming it's the same motherboard): X5460 (E0), E5462, E5450 (C0), E5405 (E0) What stepping is your E5440? You have a very old motherboard and as with the GA-G33M-DS2R, a Xeon microcode update may be required to run Windows 8.1 and 10.

For safety, I would suggest flashing the modded BIOS with your previous CPU that worked fine.

Okey
I was thinking about adding a microcode.
Its my first time adding unsupported CPU to 775 that is modded and acts like quad core line up.

I'll try to microcode :)
