Intel Xeon E3 1231 v3 Motherboard Compatibility

Does anyone know if the Asus Z97 E will support this processor?

I have read a bunch of different things and have stumbled upon a few sites that say it will but it also says "The chipset may not support some features of Xeon processors."

Just wondering if anyone has had any kind of experience with this.

Server only features like ECC memory won't work on a desktop mobo, but that doesn't matter for consumer use. But yes that CPU is on the compatible CPUs list. Have never heard of anyone having problems with an xeon and desktop mobo.

Makes sense. Figured it had something to do with the ECC memory aspect. But no I haven't. That's why I thought I would go ahead and post this to see if anyone has had any related issues.
