A few weeks ago l just made a build with a lot of help for a recording and streaming pc
Here at: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/QfbgxY

but then just 2 or 3 hours ago l found this beast(Intel Xeon E5 2683 V3) with 14 cores and 28 threads and can be overclocked some how up to 3.1 on each core

So would this cpu be better for recording? and would it be future proof ?and is it overkill?

And if the Intel Xeon E5 2683 V3 is better can u please send a build. Max money spent 1500 but l would love to keep it cheep as possible.

Soz for all the questions and ty for your help :D

AsRock X99 . Not every xeon can do what you are trying to do. I would just stick with the ryzen as even programs that do use a lot of cores start scaling worse and worse after 16 threads.

Xeons aren't usually overclock friendly. They are intended for stability rather than flexibility. A single core will hit 3Ghz on that CPU according to the Intel ARC.

You could get an X99 motherboard and that CPU. It will depend on the application if that will be a faster CPU than the higher clocked Ryzen.

To be honest they will come quite close in terms of performance simply due to the fact that that xeon is 2 gens behind and can only run 4 cores at max boost. You won't really notice any reasonable difference between the ryzen and xeon.

He modded his bios and it only works on certain motherboards. Also this can fail and not work at all. You need to be lucky with the xeon for this.
