Intel xeon on lga 775?

Recently i ve been looking for old processors in AliExpress suddenly i came across lga 771 xeon processors working on lga 775...
So is it worth it?
And will there will be any problem in putting these processors in mobo..?
Also does gigabyte g41m motherboard support these processors?
Plz help me cause i have no idea..

Shouldn't have any issues (after the mod anyway).

Is it worth it? Depends on what you have currently, how much a Xeon will cost and what you expect to get out of it.

Ultimately, for improved performance (and the fact you can find Xeon's on AliExpress for <$10)..... I'd say it's "worth" a try.

I think you need to have a compatible chipset/board. Somewhere there is a list. Search this forum or google before you jump. My board wasn't compatible, so I got a Q9650 from Aliexpress. It arrived pretty fast wasn't much more than the modded xeon and benchmarked better than the Q6600 it replaced.

All G41 chipset boards are compatible (as per the link I posted) - other than Intel boards etc.
