Intel Xeon W3530 Quad Core

Xeon's are server cpu's. They usually have more cores than normal cpus, and in some cases identical specs. Usually they have larger L1-L3 cache's, and are designed to operate under load continuously. They would not be worth it for a gamer. Get a desktop grade GPU not server grade.

That is poor advice considering unless you overclock you can typically get a Xeon cheaper than an I7. Not to mention a Xeon and I7 are almost the same exact chip, infact nothing seperates them except for what intel chooses to disable or enable until you get to the dies that are 10 cores and higher.

Also currently 1366 Xeons are dirt cheap and unlike the 1150/1155/2011 xeons they can still be overclocked. The 1366 xeon can also be had for ~40$ that will come close to matching current gen 240usd+ cpus or even looking at the current gen you can get an lga1150 xeon that is onpar with a i7-4770 for ~240 just without the overclocking.

Heres some quick examples using both modern haswell and the cpu the OP asked about.

Surprise surprise they match except for features being enabled/disabled. Also I guess there is a 200mhz clock deficit but that's worth 100$ to me since haswell doesn't oc very well to begin with and frankly no real point to it anyway.
