Intelburntest FX-4170

could anyone tell me what they are getting for Gflops with intelburntest? I did a new build using the FX-4170 and got 19Gflops. I'm wondering why its so much less than my Phenom II 955 which is getting almost 50Gflops. or am I going about it the wrong way and should be looking at the ram?

Fx performs terribly in ibt because it only has 1 fpu per module, therefore in your 4170 you have 2, the same amount as a dual core processor.

Yeah, it's AMD SMT, it's only got half the actual CPU cores they claim.
Not to mention the FPU is a heavily contested resource in the new AMD processors.

The AthlonXP+ was a better designed core (for it's time).

Thanks for the posts. That makes more sense. I was unaware of the design when I built it and am very dissappointed, but what it's going to be used for will work. I was expecting something similar to my phenom II 955, and should of done some more research.

does anyone know if newegg would take a processor back that you already stuck in the machine, and exchange it for another?
