I do know the answer, and the answer is NOT. If you wanted to overclock you should have asked somebody who knew WTF they wer doing before getting a board that WILL NOT overclock. Sure, you can get SoftFSB if you can still find it, BUT that will only give you a few extra MHz. Nothing you would really notice, so no need to bother with it. I am giving you the best help anyone can give you-investigate your purchases before you jump in. And if you make a mistake, do whatever it takes to correct it or don't bother us. Anyone in this boards could tell you that you don't buy OEM boards if you intend to overclock. Since you apperently never ask anyone before making your purchase, you brought the problem on yourself.

Crashman's right- you can not over clock that board period. you could live with it or go for a new board. The ASUS suggestion is a decent one.

thanks, i just wanted to know if it was overclockable! guess not! but.....the board was given to me, so i didnt buy shiat! so its just best to get a better chip huh? cuz i am broke! a better chip will be around 100 bone or even cheaper if i trade for mine. but i heard the 815e chipset was a good one??????

The chipset is great - just make sure that the board manufacturer 'encourages' ocing.

the ASUS CUSL2, as far as I have seen, IS the definitive board for this chipset, and possibly PIII overall.

I would also have to say that the Asus CUSL2 Series boards are great.

That Intel board is a great board if you DON'T PLAN ON OVERCLOCKING, so your suggestion that you might want to get a faster processor is valid. Probably get a new processor for about the same price as a new motherboard, so that would work for you.
