That is a very interesting win for Intel. I've been trying to figure out why the Atoms are the better choice for Google there, but nothing really comes to mind.

Cheers!

That's quite firmly in the "not going to happen"s. What they might (still unlikely) do is only include unlocked multipliers on the XXX-E SKUs. Still horrible, but at least it's better than what AMD has...

I wonder if it has anything to do with the integrated voltage regulator over the fact that the node shrink has thermal issues?

The TDP is set as a limit. If you set the chip to 4.5 W, you only let it use 4.5 W. if it hits that target and wants more V or A, it's not going to get it. OEMs can also set it to 6 or 3 W, depending on the device. Would be interesting to see if you can set it via Intel's XTU

Ashraf Eassa, a financial tech writer, has e-mailed AMD and has received conformation that Devinder Kumar has misspoke. K12 is targeted at FinFet.

A simple error.

I was wondering the same thing? nothing new since 12/13/2014.

12/8 for me. Think we broke the thread again?

I do find it funny we're complaining the AMD Thread broke in the Intel one :p

darn those 1 k.u. prices, i'll never buy those devices at those price for the cpu/soc alone. moreover, bdw, as it is now, is just a stopgap lineup until skylake. not worth it.
