I guess the i3 is the new mainstream in Europe then.
Because that i5 has become way too expensive to be mainstream.
Honestly x86 is depressing to look at, both the price of the platform and the energy costs are increasingly pushing people away.
If you want to sell CPU and GPU in Europe you need to get power consumption under control. 200+ watt GPU simply will not sell, it is all hands on deck to lower energy costs. People who used to look at monthly energy use, now look at their daily energy use.
I am increasingly looking at developments in ARM architecture, maybe that will offer some relief to the increases in price and power of x86 that are not sustainable for most budgets.
