In my computer, I have cables connected from an MSI MAG A750GL PCIE5 power supply. I am buying a new MSI MPG A850G PCIE5 power supply and want to use the existing cables. Are the cables interchangeable?

Removing the old cables and connecting new ones would be a hassle. That's why I'm opting for a power supply from the same manufacturer. The MAG one is terribly noisy, whereas the MPG, according to reviews, is very quiet.

Unfortunately cables are part of the power supply. Using cables built for a different PSU could cause problems.

You have no choice but to replace the CPU and motherboard cables. What's left? The GPU? It would be unwise to leave an old power cable with a new power supply.

But to be sure you can check the voltages at the end of the cable with a multi meter
How is that less work than just replacing the cables? 😊

BTW - you can clearly see, that connectors are different.
Look for square pins and rounded pins. Connectors from one PSU will not fit into the other PSU.
