Hi, I have a monitor that came with a 300v 75° (celcius degree) power cable, and my EVGA 450w PSU came with a 300v 105° cable. The problem is that the PSU cable is short, and the monitor cable is long. My monitor is close to my outlet, my computer is not. My question is, can I switch the two cables? Can a PSU safely use a lower heat-rated cable? I can additional info on the cables if needed.

Solution
If they're both standard IEC power cables, then the only thing you need to look for is if the wire gauge is thick enough for the power draw.

Unless you expect the interior temperature of your house to reach 75C/167F, the temperature rating of the cable is irrelevant.
