Interesting Computer problem

My computer stopped working about 2 months ago, I've been living off my laptop ever since. However one day when I was randomly playing cs:s my computer shut off and died no power nothing. When I tried to turn it back on it wouldn't start so I figured I over heated it and I have it a day to rest. Nope weeks later it still wouldn't start. I had just installed a new PSU that was working all perfect and dandy so I figured my problem lies in the motherboard or processor. I had my intel processor shipped off to my friend who works for intel and she told me it runs and works perfectly fine. I then bought a new motherboard the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128371 to replace the intel one that i won at a gaming lan. Installed it and everything and i get the same problem my computer wont start up. The PSU acts like it's starting up a light comes on and then nothing. So I thought it might be my PSU and I installed another PSU in my computer and I get the exact same thing except the motherboard lights 1234 go on and then it all shuts off nothing. Any suggestions to my problem?

Clear the bios.
Check for shorts, wrong cables plugged in, missing cables not plugged in.
Make sure you have the standoffs in place.
Check that the power switch is working, by shorting the pins with a screwdriver.

Ya I think it'd really be worth your time going through the link evongugg posted for you. After that it'll help us eliminate a bunch of the problems. If the problem presists after you've gone through the checklist we can take it up from there.
