Question Intermittent & selective problems with USB sticks ?

I have USB sticks it has no problem with and USB sticks that it has no chance of reading. Some are from the same brand or even batch and it will read one but not the other. The "problem" sticks are good in other PCs. Is this a Bios Setup, OPROM and EHCI problem ? Rear has no problems so far with backup storage drives, printer & scanner. Only the front. Sticks elicit no reaction, invisible in Computer Management/Drive, lights on sticks stays off. Any ideas ?

It could be the install of windows itself. I have had USB drives that stopped working with my pc but after a reinstall of windows, the USB started working again.

You could use one of the tools mentioned in this post to make windows forget the USB had ever been attached, it might fix it - https://www.tenforums.com/drivers-h...forget-usb-device-if-i-had-never-plugged.html (they should work for 7)

do you have latest BIOS for motherboard?
