Intermittent Mouse Freezing on Win7

I have an Anker 98ANWSM-01BA Wireless USB Mouse and it has been behaving erratically on my Win7 system. I believe it is a software issue since the mouse works fine when I boot into Ubuntu 14.04

Here are more details:
- I've tried restarting, reinstalling drivers, and tweaking mouse options but to no avail.
- The freeze is limited to the mouse, but is complete (buttons and scroller won't work while frozen either).
- I tried another USB mouse on the Win7 system and it worked fine.
- This is being used on a laptop with a touchpad (it's terrible so I don't use it). The touchpad works fine as do other working mice. although I have tried disabling the touchpad with no avail.
- I've tried the mouse in question on my desktop's Win7 system and it works fine.

It would seem that the problem is isolated to this particular Anker mouse and only occurs on this particular Win7 OS.

You proved the mouse is fine but it doesnt work on that laptop; What do you want,a reason?
Perhaps I should spend the next 24 hrs getting to the bottom of your problem?

Wow, is this how most users here would reply to a difficult tech question? Just because I could buy another doesn't mean I want to or that this issue doesn't deserve a solution. No one is forcing you to answer this, yet you took the time to post something negative anyway.

If anyone else has anything productive or helpful to add, I'd greatly appreciate it.
