I have xp sp3 and experience intermittent network drops...on a continuous ping, card shuts off...turns on...only intermittently. No problem with the router since I am on with a laptop with a continuous connection. No Zone Alarm. Even booting into Safe mode with networking, same problem.
Installed PCI network card with same problems...except the problem is not as prevelent. So, I have a "little" better connection with PCI NIC.
