Intermittent Wireless issues. Caused by new laptop?

I recently got a new laptop, Lenovo Yoga 910-12IKB. Before this our router and internet had no problems besides not getting the dl/ul speeds we pay for, Comcast *sigh*.

Router intermittently stops broadcasting our 5ghz connection. Once this happens the router has to be restarted to gain this back. Although restarting doesn't guarantee the 5ghz broadcast to come back; it seems random as to when it comes back.

After a while the 2.4ghz connection will stop providing internet, although it never stops broadcasting its signal. The connectivity problems can all be fixed by restarting the modem and router. How long this fix can last is random.

The kicker is that these problems only occur when my computer is on the network. My roommates have never reported a dropped connection when my computer is turned off. Any help would be appreciated.

Specs
Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4A wireless network adapter
Router: TP-Link AC1750
Modem: Motorola MB7220

Check the Windows power settings on your laptop and make sure the "on battery" setting is set to "high performance". It may be dropping the connection if it goes into power saving mode.

It may not be Comcast' fault at all. Wireless uses radio so you can be getting radio interference from soneone else's equipment that is in range of your equipment. Excellent article at the following link. Skip down to "A tale of two problems: Signal, and interference".

I failed to mention that my computer is not the only one on the network affected. When the router drops the 5ghz signal, seemingly random, its the router that stops broadcasting. No other computer can connect to this network because it is no longer visible on the list of networks.

When the the 2.4ghz connection stops providing internet, it stops providing internet to everyone on that network not just me. The network continues to broadcast unlike the 5ghz connection. This leads me to believe that it is some effect my computer is having on the network, not a isolated issue with my computer dropping the connection.

I will look into that radio interference article, but why would it only effect the network when my computer is on? As we have no issues when this specific computer is off the network.

I have exactly the same issue and my specs are the same:

Lenovo Yoga 910
Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4A wireless network adapter
Router: TP-Link AC1750

Has anyone solved that issue?

Just wanted to chime in and say I'm having the same issue to add some more cred to this. Same laptop, same router, same problem. It totally crashes the entire network, and my family gets pissed.

I have the same problem too:

Lenovo Yoga 910
Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4A wireless network adapter
Router: TP-Link Wireless N router

Rebooting the router helps, but it doesn't last for long before it drops again.

I emailed TP-Link for support, they sent me beta software to try, which fixed the issue. Here is the email:

1) The firmware is attached, please extract it before you upgrade.
2) Please make sure connect your computer and your router via an Ethernet cable when upgrading the firmware.
3) Please login the tplink management page 192.168.0.1 and follow this detail instruction to upgrade the firmware:
http://www.tp-link.com/en/faq-688.html
4) After that, please re-configure the router.

Here is a link to the software they sent me: http://www.filehosting.org/file/details/678409/ArcherC7v2_en_us_3_15_1_up_boot(170117)%20(1).rar
