Internal 2nd Hard Drive Install

Hi Guys, I was speaking to a mate of mine about installing a 2TB mechanical internal hard drive, on top of my 250 SSD. However i he told me if i did this, i would need to re install windows because it is new hardware. So can some shed light on whether i will need to re install windows or not.

No. You can add as many disk as you want without reinstalling windows so long as you don't do anything the disk where your OS is installed. Just plug it in, boot up, format it, and use it.

Your mate is 100% incorrect.
Power off, connect the new drive, power up

Poof...you have another drive letter, and more storage space.
