Internal Hard Disk Error

Four years before I bought 500 Gb Western Digital Internal Hard disk. Now It stopped working. Using Windows 8 Pro from Dec 2013. Last two years it work's perfect. But last two months it stopped working. The OS freeze and crashes continuously. Some programs may hang including Windows Media Player and VLC also. Yesterday I installed New RAM, After installing the new ram facing the same issue. But If I install Windows 7 Its works good. Not Perfect. What can I do? I need My Hard- Disk. Cause I don't spend to anymore. Already I tried the diagnostics tools. I performed the scan. After completing scan, it shows some error. I tried to fix that, but it shows "unable to fix".

My suggestion would be to start with just backing up the important data stored on the drive.

What is the model of the drive?

Have you tested the drive with WD's DLG tool? In case you haven't, you can run both short and extended tests: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=5HgxX9
I believe you can test it with some third party tools as well: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility

Apart from all this, I would say that in most cases, HDD related errors(bad sectors most of the times) could not be fixed. It seems that you will need to replace it, as it could fail any time.
