Hey,
Some time ago I bought a new hard drive, installed it in my computer and it was working perfectly. However, a while back I reset my PC and reinstalled windows 10. Everything went fine except my hard drive didn't show up anymore.

I went to check the disk management and it did not show up there:

However, it does show up in my device manager. So my PC still recognizes it. Now, it was a while back that this happens and I'm not sure if I accidentally deleted it form disk management or it just didn't show from the start.

So first of all I don't really care about the content that's on the disk, these are mostly games and movies that I can reinstall, so it isn't a problem if the files on it get cleaned. Secondly, I am not a computer whiz, I know some stuff but for complicated actions I would like some steps to follow. Thirdly, if you can help me solve this you will be my number one hero!

The hard drive is a Seagate ST1000DM003. Please help me restore it!

If you guys need anymore information I will happily add it to the post!

Hi there Biermusketier,

This could be some sort of a driver related issue, as your drive disappeared after the update.
You can go to your MOBO's website and update all the drivers (especially SATA ones).
If you attach the drive to a different system, you will be sure if all of this is caused by something in your system or the HDD itself.

Let me know how this goes,
