Internal HDD randomly asking me to Initialize it

I've been using this HDD for storage and booting off of an SSD for about 10 months now and it suddenly is asking me to initialize it on disk management and wont let me access anything. It doesn't show up on file explorer and I don't know what else to do. It doesn't show up on testdisk or gsmartcontrol either. I also tried to switch the wires for the HDD around to see if that was the problem but that doesn't seem to do anything. Is there anything else I can do or should I just initialize it and try and recover the data after? if so is there any free programs I can use to try that?

It's an SSD so recovering data may not work but worth trying. I really hope you have these files backed up somewhere.

Sorry maybe I wasn't clear but i am having problems with the HDD not the SSD

pretty much the only thing here is the HDD is bad or had a hiccup that windows didn't like try hooking it up to another machine but i doubt it will help
here as a free app have not used but looks legit. look around on other forums for suggestions on data recovery
