Internal to external Hard drive

Hello! I am trying to transfer data off of an internal hard drive but the machine's operating system keeps rebooting and never allows safe mode or anything. I think I need something called a "carriage" to convert the internal hard drive into an external. I have looked around and couldn't find one for this hard drive. hts541010a9e680 is the model number. Is there a brand I should get for the "carriage" and does this hard drive have a carriage that can be bought that is compatible?

You can use any enclosure ("carriage" as you put it) or an dock that accepts 3.5" hard drives.

Another option is to use a bootable 'live' CD/dvd/USB drive with one of the various linux options out there and transfer the files to an internal or external drive.
