International PC vendors, including Hewlett-Packard (HP), Sony and Taiwan-based Acer and Asustek Computer, have had Blu-ray Disc (BD) or HD DVD optical disc drives on their roadmaps to launch in 2008 but are faced with a dilemma between the large market potential and the uncertainty as to which format to adopt, according to industry sources in Taiwan.
