5700x kind of makes no sense given how little jump from 5600x to 5800x is ;o..(not lie kthey can do much since its just core dif)

But the 5600x has six, and the 5800x has eight cores, it is a sizeable jump.

It may make sense in using dies with worse binning to make lower clocked versions, even if they end up taking most of the sales because they end up being a better value. In any case, it's a win for us, who can get almost the same processor for less money.

i have feeling they might EoL the 5800x (as it gets new version) and just make the 5700x its replacement (a false sense of a new chip when jjust a new name)

It has 8 cores as it is said in the article... Just like 3700x and 3800x. The only difference is TDP and clockspeeds. If yoy mean 5800x3d... it is much, much more expensive than normal 5800x that will reman as higher end 8 core version above 5700x.
It is mainly marketing and partly binning.

Yeah, this is a bit confusing, and, honestly, I think that AMD probably needs a clearer model number scheme to distinguish between those CPUs/APUs with multi-threading, and those without.

That said, lower-end chips are nice to compete in the budget market. That's probably the point of the 5600 and 5500, and the 4000-series. I hope.

5800X3D replaces the original 5800x in price. 5700x is basically the 5800x with a price drop but a different name so it doesn't look like price drop.
