Ever since I switched to my new computer and Windows 8.1 my internet access has been dropping a few times every day, especially common during heavy load but sometimes during regular browsing.

A common message it says is "windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings" but I have no proxy related things running and I've tried resetting things in the Internet Explorer settings solution I've seen float around.

There is no faults on the wireless adapter, it worked perfectly on my old PC running Windows 7, and all I have to do to get the internet access back is plug the adapter out and back in and wait for a moment. I have the drivers for it, its an AC53 from ASUS.

Solution
Have the same problem with my Win *. I have two windows 7 and 8 on my pc. There are no problems while using windows 7 while windows 8 constantly does that. I read that for some people going into device manager and then right clicking on your adapter, then going into properties and into power management and finally unchecking the "allow the computer to turn of this device" square might help. But i did so and nothing happened. Everyone else just keeps saying i need to update my drivers but that isnt the problem.
