Internet connection before/after sleeping pc

If I sleep my pc with google chrome open the internet works immediately after waking again.

If I don't have chrome open and put my pc to sleep it takes like 20 seconds for the internet to work again after waking from sleep.

I use my ethernet and I have changed the setting to not allow it to sleep when my pc sleeps.

Curious if anyone knows why this happen to me.

Router: TP-Link AC1900 Archer C9

PC:
Windows 10 home 64bit (build 14393.447)
i5 6500
mobo: Gigabyte h170n-wifi-cf (u3e1)
evga gtx 1060 (6gb)
850 evo m.2 250gb
Ballistix Sport 8GBx2 DDR4 2400 MT/s (PC4-19200)

Anytime people say W10, I blame W10. Ideally you will have a W10 certified LAN driver and not a "it will work" W7/8/Vista driver. Also I pontificate you must have LAN driver from Mobo's vendor, NOT Microsoft.

too true, and depending on the age of your computer you may never see one. i am constantly having issues with wifi on my lenovo laptop ever since taking the anniversary update
