Internet Connection Problems After Graphics Card Change

I'm having 2 problems with my PC....
1. Video is loading slow from the internet. I used to be able to watch HD video from YouTube with little or no buffering, and now I can't even watch low quality video without constant buffering.
2. The first time I access the internet (via chrome, outlook, firefox - anything) after turning on the PC, it takes 10 or more minutes to connect.

These problems started happening after I replaced my old graphics card (EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS 320-P2-N811-AR) which went bad, with a new card (GIGABYTE GV-R667D3-1GI Radeon HD 6670 1GB DDR3). The new card was not near as expensive as the old card ($70 vs $220), but since we only use the PC for surfing the internet I felt like the Radeon 6670 card would be fine for this.

Here's what I have tried....
1. Replaced my router (oops. That's what I thought the problem was originally.)
2. Uninstalled the new graphics card driver (from the CD) and installed the most recent driver. (no help)
3. Virus scans Ad nauseam. (nothing found - obviously no help)
4. Cleaned the Registry (no help).

I will purchase a better graphics card if I could be sure that would solve my problem.

MB - ASUS P5N-E SLI NF650I SLI 775
CPU - INTEL C2Q Q6600 2.4G 775

Yes, I did delete the nvidia chipset drivers! I didn't think they were necessary with my new graphics card. Wow, do you think that's it? That would be great if I can reinstall them and get this fixed.

I don't see the nvidia chipset drivers in the ASUS...Download link you provided. where can I find them?

just select your operating system in the box thingie, and it should then show whole bunch of stuff. One of them will the chipset drivers, though there are separate drivers for the LAN as well. get them both.

the page wont let me link directly to the files, so you need to figure it out :)

I'm wired. Also, I'm at work now and not at my PC with the problem, but I'm sure there are not in red X's or yellow exclamation signs. I would have recognized that.

I have never deleted any drivers before, but I thought - "well, these are the old drivers for the card I took out, and I only need the new drivers now. "

I need to find these nvidia drivers!

Thanks Kari. I'm pretty sure you found my problem for me and while I certainly appreciate that and hate to appear more of a newbie then I obviously am, but...

On the Asus download page they have downloads for:
Qualified Vendor List
BIOS
BIOS-Utilities
AUDIO
Manual

None of these appear to have anything that looks like nvidia chipset drivers? Do I have to flash (I think that's the terminology) by BIOS? I hope not!

hmm thats odd, what is your OS? I just tested it with winXP and got this:

Qualified Vendor List (1)
BIOS (18)
BIOS-Utilities (3)
Chipset (1)
AUDIO (3)
LAN (1)
RAID (3)
Utilities (8)
SATA (2)
Manual (16)

edit went thru all of them, DOS and Win7 does what you're seeing...

went thru all of them, DOS and Win7 does what you're seeing...

they might have moved those drivers into windows update but not sure about that..
you could just try with the one that shows up under winxp, it is named like Chipset_win32&win64bit_V826.zip
so it might just work for win7 64 as well

edit^^ok, scrap this... 😛
