Internet connection stuck on "identifying"

Hello all, not sure if this is the right place for this but I've looked all over the internet and can't seem to fix this issue.

My current computer cannot make it passed the "identifying" step of any connection, wired or wireless. However every other device in my home works normally. I've tried a handful of steps in an attempt at fixing it, however nothing has helped. But maybe I just didn't do things right.

It is the only windows system in my home, every other device is either a tablet or a phone, but they all work fine.

If at all possible, some help in fixing this situation would be much appreciated.

I've already tried everything on that list that I'm capable of, I don't believe I can re-install drivers without an internet connection so I didn't attempt that as I didn't see a way coming back from it if I went that far.

flashdrive tranfer from a different system.


you could try just getting a cheap USB network card. like 5 bucks...

if you did everything form that huge list.. then i'd guess hardware.
