I have a modem, (wired, not wifi) from twc. I'm connected on my Dell desktop, however when I unplug the Ethernet cord and plug into my laptop it tells me it's unable to get internet access, but the driver installs. How come it won't work on my Toshiba laptop and works on my Dell desktop? When I had Comcast, I could plug in to any device with the same modem Ethernet connection?? Is twc different.. also auto connect on laptop is not detecting internet connection if that matters? Hopefully I don't have to buy or rent any more equipment.. Thanks!
 
Solution
Try plugging the Ethernet cable into the unit and running the network troubleshooter.

Go to Control panel - Network and sharing center

Click Troubleshoot problems and then internet connections

Follow the steps
