As stated above, my cable modem disconnects after 00:00 and doesnt come on till, im not sure, i've waited untill 3 AM but was so tired i couldnt stay up any longer, but i wake around 11 and its okay then, im currently on my laptop, which is wireless, and works completely fine, i also tried plugging the cable into the laptop and disconnecting from the wireless to see the results, and internet worked fine, so im wondering weather its something to do with my settings, nothing at all works, it says i have internet access, but everything times out and says i have no internet connection, AKA cant connect to browsers, online games, cant ping google.com on CMD etc, im on windows 7 if that helps if someone could please help me in resolving this issue, i would be eternally greatfull as i have never come across this problem before :S thanks

Sounds like your provider. Did you carefully read the contract? It may state "down times" for access or something to protect them so that they can save on $$$ by cutting service at night. It also could be a hardware issue, but I doubt it.

Hi robax, i have internet on my laptop through wireless, and when i plug the cable into my laptop, it works too, i havnt made any recent changes to hardware / i doubt it would cause my internet to cut off at such a specific date, this is the second day in a row 🙁

It isn't your provider. It is more than likely your router/modem with a buggy firmware. I had the same issue last year. I purchased one of my ISP's approved routers because I didn't want to lease one and it had a call to force a reboot in it at midnight if the signal to noise ratios weren't within a certain tolerance. The problem with the firmware was that it treated all returned levels as a reset condition forcing a midnight reset, every night on the dot.
They came out three times before they eventually ran me my own line to the pole to which sure enough.... the router again reset that night. I printed out my router logs and called them again and told them to make sure the technician shows up with a new router because the evidence was right there in the logs.
I now have a working router and am getting twice the bandwidth that I am paying for. =) Hope this helps.

You can try to update the firmware of your modem. In my case, I had the latest firmware and it was still 100% reproducible at midnight, every night.

While it could be a hardware issue, if it happens predictably, at specific times, then it isn't hardware unless you have software installed on said hardware to make that happen. I had a similar problem, however it was the cable running to my house from the pole being frayed. Once the company replaced it, I had no issues. Have you contacted your provider first? Usually that's the first step.

Update, my internet is changing between internet access, and no internet access, every minute or so, and even when it says internet access, and packets are sent/recieving, no internet is availible for me
