Hey guys just a forewarning this is going to be a long one!
I'm having a hellish amount of Internet/Network issues, it all started on Thursday evening, I didn't change any settings or install any new software, so this hit more or less out of the blue. When I was trying to go to websites like Steam, CNN, Gmail etc. They weren't loading and I kept getting errors like XYZ.com took too long to respond, or No Data Received, timing out etc. The weird thing is, there were a handful of websites I could still get to without any issues, Also the ones that I couldn't get to via Chrome/Firefox/IE I was still able to ping them and I usually got 10ms or lower responses from them, so it obviously wasn't a server side issue. I figured it was something with my machine, not the network itself because I have 2 laptops and a tablet, and all 3 of them were able to go anywhere I pointed them to they didn't have the slightest hiccup when I was browsing the web.
When I got home from work On Friday I decided to take a crack at it and see if I could fix the issues, I went into Chrome and dumped all the cache etc, I then went into the command prompt and did damn near every command I could think of, Release, Renew, dump DNS, Winsock etc etc, none of those made the slightest difference. At that point I decided to do a quick format, I had planned on doing it this weekend anyways so I just went ahead and did it.
When I got back into Windows post-format, initially it seems like the format had fixed the issue whatever it might have been, for the first couple hours everything was running great, unfortunately within about 2 hours the problems started sprouting up again, I went back through the list of Command prompt inputs, reset the router/modem, disabled the firewall etc etc. Nothing seemed to fix it, so I went into the network adapter settings and I disabled IPV6 and boom that seems to have fixed the issues I was having, I went through the list of websites that weren't working and suddenly they all came to life.
Suffice it to say I was pretty happy at that point, for the most part everything seems to be running well, though I am still having an issue with a few websites, for example when I try to get on Comcast and go to my account I get the following error:
Customer.xfinity.com didn't send any data.ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE
I'm also having issues with EA's Origin trying to download the installer and actually installing it, I can download it, but when I try to install it, within about 2 seconds I get an error and it stops working, which with the error code I got I can follow it back to being a downloading issue. I can't figure out what happened on Thursday night to cause all of this mayhem but if anyone has any idea's or possibly knows how to fix this problem I would GREATLY GREATLY appreciate any input that you guys might have!
