Internet Explorer 8

Hey all..........Happy Holidays !!

Quick question: does internet explorer 8 work in XP or is just not tech enough for modern day internet? I installed XP sp3 on another drive so I could play a game of old times. Internet explorer loads the initial pages but will not surf thereafter. It indicats that there is no internet connection. Now, I have google on the same OS and it surfs fine but Internet Explorer will not. I have reset it......reloaded it.......and on and on. It did initially work when I first loaded the OS but after the update process it ceased to perform. I have no way of knowing which update may be interfering. I have other games that work well in the xp environment that I like but they won't load because they default to use internet explorer for online updates. Any ideas?

IE8 is LONG obsolete and is no longer supported by most, if not all, sites. Given that XP no longer receives security patches you should not be connecting it to the net at all.

Yes IE8 is obsolete but, with caution and good AV, firefox is still good on XP.
