internet explorer is onening tabs again and again

my internet explorer is opening new tabs by itself 100 of tabs opening

I just started having the same problem and I don't even use IE. The windows/tab open up at around five per second and the only way to stop it is to continually hit ALT-F4.

Is when you start it? If so it's possible something you installed (one of those installers that try to get you to install other things as well) changed your IE setting so on startup it opens all those tabs
if it is to fix:
go to setting(click the gear)
select Internet Options
under home page, delete all links
put one(or as many as you like) link in their place
there you go the removed multiple tabs opening on staring IE

I figured what's happening on my machine. One program insists on only using IE for messaging, sending crash reports, etc. It will first throw a message it cannot open the necessary link. Once I close the prog, be it by cancel, Windows Salute, or whatever, it begins to throw up the IE windows like a sick dog. I just hold down the ALT key and keep hitting F4 until they all disappear. Can't remeber which Orkin man prog it is. Sorry.
