Internet Explorer Stopped Working?!

I recently wiped my hdd and reset my computer. I have never run into this issue before. ABout every 5 minutes a dialogue box will pop up saying Internet Explorer has stopped working and you get the option to close the program. I never use Internet Explorer. I only use Chrome. If I leave my computer for 30 minutes I come back to like 6 error messages! It is weird because Internet Explorer isn't even running when these errors pop up. How do I stop them? Internet Explorer sets internet policies for all browsers installed on the system, so even when you use Chrome, Firefox or other browsers, it reads the configuration from Internet Explorer. Try updating IE to the latest version - if you are on the latest version - uninstall it and reinstall it.

I am running windows 7, and IE11 I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, updating. It does nothing. I have also gotten a weird message now that says "Your security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded." It does not appear as frequently as the internet explorer one though. This is really starting to get on my nerves. Thanks for your help thus far!

I had same problem it has stopped working . Saw a post somewhere and tried it, and it works. Don't use msn or ninemsn as your web pages or home pages.
