Problem
Whenever I join server in a videogame my Internet speed goes down to 2mbps, skype and the game itself starts to lag (500-2000ms aka unplayable)
Internet Speed
Upload: 1.5
Download: 35-40
Wireless
Things to consider
- I can still download stuff at full speed
- The problem occurs on different games such as Rust (Steam) or Overwatch (Battlenet) so you
can't blame Steam or Battlenet for this issue
- The problem occurs instantly or few seconds later after I join server
- No other devices are using my internet and neither I left torrents or something else downloading or uploading in the background.
- Scanned for viruses
- Tried turning off skype and other programs to see if it helps, it didin't
- Restarted my router twice
- Restarted computer
- I recently had bought different internet adapter since the one I'm using broke, however the one I bought broke in two weeks and the one that was broken started working again. The new one was 5Ghz and the current is 2.4Ghz I have also uninstalled internet adapter software it came with but not drivers since I don't know how.
I'm about to reinstall windows, but perhaps this issue can be fixed without doing so
