Internet connections drops randomly both wired and wireless sometimes every 2 minutes sometimes stays up for hours ya just never know when or how long before it drops again.... when it drops it says cable broken. I have changed cables 4 times one brand new one also. I have wiggled them - - changed ports with them...
I am using a hp pavilion dm4 laptop with a TPlink TL wr841N el cheapo router my ISP made me buy and they will not tell me the passwords etc so I can log into it. I have updated the network drivers for my laptop. This the third laptop I have tried (weeks at a time) and all 3 have the very same problem. One was another pavilion dm4 and the other was a new Toshiba Satellite. I am at my wits end trying to figure this out. When it drops I cannot ping google or anything else. I have tried so many solutions from the net I can't remember them all. Turned off power options etc. The only thing I haven't tried is logging into the router because podunk ville ISP wont let me and there is no other option for internet service out here. The only thing that works to bring it back online is to reset the router but it might only work for a few minutes or maybe hours who knows.
Anyone have any ideas?
