Internet not working

Ok so i built my computer last christmas for gaming. I have pretty good specs and i play a lot of games on it. The problem is that one day last summer i went away for a while to go on vacation. So i turn off my pc. About a week later when i return i turn on my pc and i find that i cant go on the internet. Which confused me because the icon in the bottom left corner said i had internet access. so i trouble shooted it and it said that there was a dns server error or something. I tried to look up an answer to it and i find one but nothing worked. Then i thought that maybe it was a hardware problem with my cable company. So i contacted comcast and they said that nothing was wrong with the equipment so that made me even more confused. So i ask anyone that may of be of assistance to please dont be afraid to answer. anything will help and this is my last option before i have to go to a pc repair shop and pay hundreds so please if anyone can help please comment , thank yu

it look like the isp modem do not detect your computer did you set the system on auto connect to the provider you may have to redo the settings .

i also used the ethernet cable in my laptop and it worked so im not sure if the problem is in my actual computer. Ive reset my routers many times with no sucess also
