I have 150Mbps internet and live in a house with 6 people. I enjoy playing online games, however whenever someone else is in the house watching Netflix or something my internet will come to a grinding halt almost immediately. My latency in games is reaching the 2500ms+ range and I can't play a single game without timing out. They watch Netflix using WiFi and I'm connected directly to the router via Ethernet, so should I not be receiving a higher priority? Or is the problem something to do with the ISP or modem (we have an ARRIS DG3270)? There is more than enough bandwidth to go around, so why is this even happening at all???

Routers don't prioritize by default. Every packet is the same priority, whether it is from a wired port...

You have 150Mbit download, but what is the UPLOAD bandwidth? You may be running out of upload bandwidth.
It is possible your router is just overloaded. Have you tried pinging the router IP address? Does that ping vary?
