[SOLVED] Internet slow new WiFi adapter? Need help!

Hi i am using wireless N160 router. I bought a new usb tp link ac600 adapter for my pc because the builtin qualcomm adapter was not working.

Now i am only getting 1.5Mpbs download speed instead of 10Mbps.

So can you tell me what should i do to get the maximum speed of my internet?

Are you confusing megabits per second with megabytes per second? If you're connected at 100 megabits per second, your download speed will be 12.5 megabytes per second.

when i do speedtest my download speed is usually above 10Mbps . But with mynew adapter the speed is between 1 - 4 Mpbs. So i want to know what i need to do to get the best speed.

Are you using a dual band router, or just 2.4 or just 5? If you normally connect using 5Ghz, and are now connecting with 2.4, that could be a cause of slower speeds.
