Hello, recently my Internet has been acting up. I live in Ontario and am with Rogers. Recently I updated my internet speeds and got a new router (I went from 30 download 5 upload to 60 download and 10 upload speed) and all was well for about two weeks or so. For the past week or so however my internet speed has been fluctuating constantly, mostly downwards. It's gotten to the point where if I do a speed test my speeds are actually less than they were than before I upgraded which is ridiculous because we're paying for better internet. Usually turning my router off and on will make the speeds momentarily good but then the speeds suddenly tank and go really low. I cannot even watch Youtube videos at 144p (the lowest quality) at some points.
Something I noticed however is that as I use the internet the speeds seem to get slower and slower. For example, I looked at my connection speed when watching a Youtube video and monitored it as I kept watching additional videos and I saw that it got lower and lower every time. It's almost as if I'm getting a set amount of internet instead of a steady stream and I use it all up. This has become really frustrating and I'm close to calling my ISP to see why exactly I'm not getting the speeds we're paying for. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks and have a nice day.
