Internet speed is down?

Hello everyone! =)
I just got home from vacation and realized my internet was extremely slow. I already pay 50$ a month and am supposed to get 50mbit/s (best case). I still only get around 6-10mbit/s download instead of 50 but thats fine because my ping is pretty good normally. Now today I only have like 400kb/s which of course is an absolute joke. What might have caused this and how do I fix it?

Id be glat to be given an explanation and solution!

Reboot your modem and router.

If issue continues, contact your ISP for further troubleshooting on the modem side as that maybe where the issue resides.

Welll it seems to work. I cant tell wether it will solve the problem or if it will go back to the lag but in the mean time

You could try to use www.speedtest.net and run a test on your WAN to see what speeds you are getting.

If the issue begins to happen more often then normal. For sure call the ISP and ask for a modem replacement.

I still have the same speeds now. It was up to 6mbit/s again and now its bag to 500kbs-1.5mbit/s :/
This bug started happening today and where I live its extremely windy and a bit stormy today and during the past days - might that be a possible cause?

Do you operate with just a modem or a router as well?

And yes a storm can effect cable lines and also cause issues to modems.
