I recently upgraded to gigabit internet. I have a Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 USB Wifi Adapter that advertises speeds up to 1300 mbps on the 5ghz band.
I also have an ASUS RT-AC5300 router, with a maximum throughput of 5334 Mbps.
I am 25ish feet from the router and have full signal. But yet I am still only able to achieve around 250mbps download on the 5ghz band connected to a usb 3.0 port. Via ethernet I can get the full gig.
I bought this router and Wifi adapter combo to be able to reach at least close to these speeds. Any ideas why I am not?
Computer specs:
Intel i7 8700k 3.7 ghz
Nvidia GTX 1080ti
