I have had a problem that appeared about a month ago. I started to notice it when using Zoom and the connection would lag and the mouse would jump around and it was unusable. I also found the same issue when opening Disney+, Netflix and also updating Microsoft Flight sim. Computer gets laggy and the mouse jumps around when you move it. I have another PC attached to the same network and it is working fine, it is also the slower of the two PCs. I have checked around for fixes, I have unplugged the network cable and gone wireless but had same issues. I checked the network adapter to make sure it was up to date. I have Restarted my network adapter and Reset the TCP/IP Stack but still have the same lag. I also uninstalled the last program that was installed when I noticed the issue.
I have also done 2 x malware and virus checks and came up negative on both. I did the speed test with my internet speed being 50Mbps and I am getting 48.56Mbps on the test.
My system is
Windows 11 (updated this whilst experiencing the issues)
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-core
MPG X570 Gaming Edge (MS-7C37) MB
AMD Radeon RX 6600XT
16gb RAM

Make and model of your router? If it's an aftermarket unit, now would be a good time to see if it's pending any firmware updates. What BIOS version are you on for your motherboard? Did you try uninstalling your networking adapter drivers, then manually reinstalling them with the latest version listed on MSI's support page(for the board)in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator?

Lutfij,
Modem is Deco X20-DSL, I checked it and have the latest firmware installed. I installed an updated BIOS from the MSI website and also did the manual reinstallation of the latest adapter drivers but still have the problem

So when you say the "mouse jumps around" I assume in this case you don't mean game lag. It happens running all applications ?

Can you move the mouse around while the speedtest is running.

I can't think of any reason the mouse would be affected by network. Do you use a wireless mouse, it should not get interference from wifi.

Maybe check the resource manager and see if you are using max cpu or a lot of disk i/o.

Logic dictates if you have 2 computers connected to the same router and one is experiencing not only wired but as well on wireless, your issue isn't with the router but with the PC, and since the symptoms are both on a wired and wireless I would suspect windows corruptions on a first part and a network driver on a second part.

if you are on windows, I suggest the following;
  1. Open an elevated command prompt "cmd" as administrator
  2. copy and paste the following command: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
this will compare the files you have against the checksum of the last updates if there is a mismatch it will replace the said file.
once this has done its job (which will take 5-10 mins)

3. copy and paste the following command: sfc /scannow

once it's done, reboot your computer, and test again your speed/functionality.

Bill as far as the mouse issue, wired mouse and when I run Netflix, Disney or Zoom on the PC it loads up really slow and when you try to move the mouse, rather than a smooth movement you move the mouse and a second or two later it jumps across the screen. So to shutdown the programs that are having issues it takes a while to get the mouse to the right spot.
Ran both Paladin, restarted and still have the issue. Is it worth resetting the computer, I did uninstall the network driver and install the latest one from MSI but that did seem to help either
I have added video of the issue

The mouse does not use network it likely is some strange coincidence. It likely would happen with say watching a video that was stored on the disk drive with the internet disconnected.

Not sure it has to be more something like cpu or memory issues that are causing it.

So just another bit of info, tried running The Division 2 laggy and finally loaded. Once entering the game very laggy, but when I bring up task manager and move the mouse across to my second screen after a short while the game starts to run properly. That is until I move the cursor back onto the game then I am back to laggy again. Stats when game was open was 26% CPU and 75% Memory, I closed all browser when I opened the game but didn't help.
Just to add did the mdsched scan and came back with no issues

I am wondering if your CPU/GPU is overheating or reaching the thermal limit, it would explain the cause of the jitters on the mouse and lagging of the game when on that particular screen because it is the focused monitor, I can suggest running an app like SPECCY (there is a free version you can download from https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy/download/standard, and let it sit on your second screen open on the main screen, it will display CPU and GPU temperature, neither should be above 80 degrees, when running a game for example.
please report the findings.

So, it is obviously not an overheating issue...
at this point, the only thing that comes to mind is, to go to " device manager" and right-click and uninstall the network adaptor. (get drivers from the manufacturer web site first) then install new fresh drivers and reboot your machine. and test again if that fails, then all I can suggest at this point is get a new1Gib network card (they cost pennies nowadays) and switch to using that one to see if that solves the issue

Thanks Paladin
The network adapter re-instal was one of the first things I tried so will look into the network card
Just one last thing, if after I get the network card I then find the issue still exist should I reset the computer then add programs one by one to see what might have caused the issue as it seems all other hardware is fine
