Question Internet Speed Issues With Windows 10 PC

Jun 4, 2019
Hi All,

New here from Melbourne Australia.

I am hoping someone will be able to help me out with this issue I've been getting for the last couple of months. I will try to give as much information as I possibly can to make it easier.

I've been having speed issues for the last couple of month, before that I use to get around 80-90Mbps speed but now its dropped to 10 to 20 Mbps. I have tried a lot of tutorials/Fix that is available on the net but with no luck.

Speed is being tested using Speedtest(Ookla) & Powered)

Below is a list of things that I have tried already:

  • Full PC Format - I know its bit silly but I had to try.
  • Change Ethernet Cables - Currently using a combination of Cat 5e & Cat 6 around the house(Just ordered some Cat 7 as well)
  • Update All Drivers(LAN Specifically)
  • Tested other Device on the same port and Ethernet Cable and all getting around 80-90Mbps line speed.
Okay, the weird thing is when I change the duplex setting from 1.0Gbps Full Duplex to 100.00Mbps Full Duplex I get better speed. Please see proof attached

FYI, My New ISP is planning to come and install the new Fibre Optic connection this weekend(8th June) and when this happens I will be switching to the Ubiquiti AmpliFi HD Mesh.

Please let me know if you require more information.

Thanking you in Advance
