Good day!

Motherboard : gigabyte b450m ds3h v2.
Problem : i have a 400mbps internet speed. but i can only 100mbps on my PC.

I have tried it all. buying new 1000/mbps desktop switch and cable. it worked for a while.
after a few weeks, it dropped again to 100mbps.
then i saw the lights at the ethernet port at the back of my mobo.

when it was running on 400mbps, the light was (orange top - green bottom)
if it's running on 100mbps, the light was (green top - orange bottom)
then sometimes the lights go (green top - green bottom) which runs at 10mbps.
i have to move the cable from time to time just to get the 400mbps (orange top - green bottom) lights. it's really frustrating.

so.... what do i have to do to keep my internet speed running at the fastest possible speed?
hope someone can help.

This is almost always a bad cable. There is a tiny chance it is a bad port but you can't fix it so you are better off trying a cable or two first. The speed is negotiated at a hardware level so it is not a software bug.

Any cable can get damaged but lately most people reporting this issue are using fake ethernet cables. Those flat cable tend to be the worst offenders because they have wires much too small to be a certified ethernet cable.

What you need to look for in the description is pure copper wire (no CCA) and it must say the wire size is 22-24 awg. If you can not find this information clealy stated in the ads buy a differnent cable. On most cables it printed on the side of the cables.
