Why is my internet speed this bad? the ping seems good, but with these upload and download speeds I'd have to wait hours to download just 1gb.

I think it would be faster if you used USPS instead of your email. Something is definitely wrong contact your ISP tech support ASAP! Call them don't email them if you want an answer this month.
